This project is an experimental exploration of the “ideal dwelling” within concrete spatial constraints — a narrow and elongated building form (gabarit), limited surface area, and a fixed orientation.

To overcome the structural limitation of a bar-shaped building where openings cannot be made on the east and west façades, every dwelling was designed with a three-dimensional layout that spans north to south. This allows each unit to benefit from dual orientation, natural light, and cross ventilation, offering a rich spatial experience even within a narrow volume.

To achieve this, three housing types (A, B, and C) are composed of two or three levels, interlocked around a corridor floor connected to the core. This corridor floor is repeated every three stories, creating a rhythmic and efficient vertical organization.

Each dwelling unit balances privacy and openness through sectional variation and alternating layouts, forming a flexible housing system that accommodates diverse lifestyles within a compact structure.

Ultimately, this project is an experimental prototype that seeks to guarantee light, air, privacy, and a minimum standard of living quality for every household, even on small urban plots. It also stands as an architectural proposal to restore humane living conditions that are increasingly neglected in high-density cities like Paris.
